Rock Band 2 Hits PS3 on October 19; Wii and PS2 Versions in December

More than a month after it released on Xbox 360, the PS3 version is about to ship. Rock Band 2 won't come to Wii and PS2 until this December though.

While Xbox 360 owners have had the opportunity to enjoy Harmonix's Rock Band 2 since September 14, PS3 gamers will finally get their chance to rock as well. In just a few days, on October 19, MTV Games and EA will ship the title for PS3. On that same date, the special edition bundle for the Xbox 360 will also become available.

Consumers looking to purchase either the Wii or PS2 versions of Rock Band 2, however, are going to have to wait a bit longer. The game is slated for a December launch on those platforms, but an exact date was not provided.

Harmonix reiterated that they expect to have a library of more than 500 songs by the end of this year. The online music store recently surpassed 21 million paid downloads since the first Rock Band's launch in November 2007.
